it all makes sense if she’s a prophet - a mouthpiece - for god…keep in mind that i, and many others i know, believe egw is the greatest prophet of all time…
I know. I have seen that some in your group do not give even to Jesus Christ a chance against Her…
That was my downfall, Jeremy, for what it’s worth.
Where does one have to imagine oneself standing in order to judge among all the prophets who have ever lived?
Surely this knowledge is privy to God, but…to us?
And what did Jesus say?
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Are Adventists now confidently overriding the very words of Jesus?
How has this come about?
For my part, I’ve had to think long and hard about the phenomena of Projective Identification and Introjection.
It seems pretty clear to me now that I introjected Ellen White whole hog, and lived to pay for it.
And my friend David Koresh did the same and then seized the Prophet Archetype himself and took many down with him.
I am psychologically similar enough to him to get sucked into that black hole as well.
Megalomania is an ever-present pitfall in Adventism, it seems to me.
Imagining that we are “a mouthpiece for God,” or we know someone who is, is extremely dangerous, I believe.
Quench not the Spirit.
Despise not prophesyings.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
In thinking about ADVENTHEALTH, “WHY” think SMALL?
It appears that ADVENTHEALTH is only thinking of HOSPITALS and NOT
thinking about including ALL of our promotion of health in North America.
WHY can’t ADVENTHEALTH make every SDA church a “Branch” of
ADVENTHEALTH, reaching out to every community with Community Health
We would have to think in terms of Legal Issues, but it seems like it would be
possible. And advantageous to do so. Many churches have professionally trained
persons in the congregation, who if they would, could be called upon to get a team
together and promote Health in their community using the SDA church as a home
Most Conferences have a “Health Department” of some sort. Just need more
positive exploration of WHO are members and call upon them to share their
knowledge and training with the community.
The Church needs to be more PROACTIVE.
