Kudos to the Gottingen Church, in Germany.
There is no mention of the size of this congregation, but having travelled widely in Europe, I would estimate that the membership is small in number.
Gottingen itself, only has a population of 120,000.
My Portland, Oregon home, has three enormous Adventist congregations within forty minutes drive of my dwelling, plus many midsize ones of 200-500 members.
SUNNYSIDE PORTLAND, SDA CHURCH. 1200 members
MEADOWGLADE, BATTLEGROUND WA church 1600 members
VANCOUVER WA COMMUNITY CHURCH 800 members
The Pacific Northwest, especially Portland, is one of the most progressive, egalitarian, politically correct, urban areas of the world.
How come these major Adventist congregations, all huge tithe generators, are not issuing statements in support of women’s rights (the WO issue is really about equality and women’s rights).??
Our colleges and universities are under the umbrella of their local administrative bodies, and therefore lack some political independence.
But surely the CHURCHES on our institutional campuses are independent entities, and can and should be issuing similar statements
Why are they not??
Any small SDA group, like Gottingen, can and should issue a statement.
COLLECTIVELY, these church bodies surely can have some impressive
impact on this major issue confronting Adventism.
LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD !!
