Adventist Elder Statesmen Support Women's Ordination on New Website

Because it has nothing to do with recognition as much as placing the same value on the recognized individual, male or female.

Let’s save money. No examinations! Just keeping a record of those who voted NO will reveal the number of spineless delegates. Enough for the stats…

That is really all ordination is: recognition of the gift of God’s calling and gifting of a person, male or female. The anti WO camp would say different roles, diminishing God’s call.

[quote=ā€œGeorgeTichy, post:21, topic:8236ā€] I stand by my prophecy. NO will prevail,

Ok. I’ll keep the scorecard open with induction to ā€œHall of Prophetsā€ the final goal.

Those meds went out by ePrescribe. :grinning:

Don’t expect such a thing from Elmer. He thinks before talking, so he doesn’t have to reconsider. Much less having said something right.

Finally. A small sliver of reason. Perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Time is running out for the church, which needs to get on the right side of history or will die, and I hope this helps.

Hey, I bet the Spectrum Booth can accommodate this need…
Should I re-order those Japanese black whoppers from Burger King as well?
A little adjustment of spine, a kind tapping on the shoulder, and a whopper for the soul… who can resist such a treatment?

Great. Otherwise the man would not sleep tonight… This is an all-night-long nightmare for him. Every night!
Did you authorize refills?

Or to pay for the tickets for many to be sent to Malta…

Malta? My license does not cover Malta. Have you applied for Malta licensure yet? Aren’t we opening a branch office there? I propose we name our mental health clinic ā€œPathways.ā€ It connotes we know where we’re headed!

5 Refills. Good for six months. Should cover all the stress for SA2015 and one month for recuperation.

this statement is timely and excellent, and delivered in an excellent spirit…these worthy men appear to be truly concerned over the harm a no vote will bring to the church - and who can know that better than them…i do think they will have an influence with at least some perhaps hesitant delegates…

I always liked Jan Paulsen. It was his book ā€œWhere are we Goingā€ that really prompted me to come down solidly on the side of women’s ordination, after I vascilated for years. I wish he had been reelected GC Prez in 2010, instead of Emperor Ted Wilson. Hopefully Ted will just graciously bow out.

I bet we can arrange practicing 30 days a year with no problem. Though I think those people will need 24/365 attention.

Do you think the Pope’s envoy, the one who criticized the Pope’s remarks on gays, will be willing to do the maintenance during our 11-month absence? We bill the Risk Management, and pay him a modest fee… We can’t count on ADRA, because I doubt they would care much in helping people who messed with them a few years ago…

The Cardinal is our only hope for the ā€œMalta Nut Project.ā€

Just like regular politics. When you are sweating, pull out the big guns. I seriously doubt these guns have the ammo to take down what is inevitable.

I agree. They started way too late, and just a site like that with a last minute video will not reach the people involved. It’s not a match for the organized machine in place serving the anti-WO crowd led by TW, and militantly active for about five years.

Needs to be on Face Book. ā€œLIKEā€ everyone they know, then send the Video around as Spam. Others will also Spam it to their friends. That is the ONLY way.
This is already May! It is more of an 11th Hour ā€œMe Tooā€ statement, hands up.

Nothing bad is going to happen when certain Unions ā€œgo their own way and augment their male preaching staff with women preachers.ā€

At this time, 11:59pm - SA time… - I wouldn’t even bother starting a pro-WO campaign. Let it all sink, and let the Unions blossom doing what they are ready to do. People should just relax, diminish their anxiety level, and enjoy the moment seeing the final maneuvers taking place.

Better late than never…

However, I doubt that the retirement argument is the main reason in this particular case. Some things might need to mature during 40 years of wilderness … of study committees etc. … and sometimes you need to speak up and react against a media storm and correct the line of argument.

The video puts the argument back to the origins of Adventist ordination understanding: recognizing God’s calling.

I didn’t read Elmer’s statement as a verdict on the ā€œelder statesmenā€, but as an encouragement for the delegates (many of whom Job 12:12 might not apply to - yet).

Indeed some decisions need to mature. But now - as the elder statesmen put - it’s time.
