Musician and recording artist Chris Picco from Loma Linda, California lost his wife, Ashley Picco, and his son, Lennon James Picco, within three days of one another. On August 26, Ashley, age 30, shared publicly on her Facebook page a photo of the couple's legs and feet with a tiny pair of shoes between them with the words, "Coming Soon," one week after their seven-year wedding anniversary. Lennon, their first child was due February 22, 2015, but arrived some three-and-a-half months prematurely on November 8, 2014 after a traumatic health event for Ashley forced doctors to perform an emergency C-section. Despite doctors' best efforts, as the baby entered the world, Ashley passed away at the Loma Linda University Medical Center.
After reading your moving story, I found myself shedding tears. I cannot find any words of comfort for you, other than pray that you find comfort in the promise that we will see our loved ones again.
Like Elmer’s, my eyes are also red and wet as I read your story. Words cannot comfort during times like this. I can’t imagine what it is like going through such a traumatic experience.
I can only hope that you find comfort in God’s presence and support from family and friends.
I, too, am weeping for your tragic loss, Chris. As a father and grandfather I grieve for you. I am praying for you, praying that you will miraculously find solace and comfort.
How awful. I am so sorry. It was a beautiful gift you gave your son - to be surrounded by love and music during his brief life. I hope you feel the love and support of others, even all of us strangers, as you go through this.
Chris, there are no adequate words to express my sympathy for your incalculable loss. The video of you tenderly singing Blackbird to your son Lennon and your courageous faith in unspeakably tragic circumstances has touched the hearts of people all over the world, including mine in Australia. God has promised to give us beauty for ashes and joy for mourning. One day you will be reunited with your two precious loved ones on that glorious resurrection day. Until that day, Jesus, the Man of Sorrows well acquainted with grief, will hold you.
Chris,
You packed a whole life-time of love into a few moments as you sang to your little boy. May that love nourish and sustain you as you go on - and know this love is a reflection of your heavenly Father’s love for you.
Chris,
Thanks for publicly and courageously sharing a most painful time in your life.
There are no words to express your feelings but your music and caring photos and message are a gift that i appreciate you sharing. May God bless you.
