Ellen White Letter Discovered at Pacific Union College; Experts Confirm Authenticity

Foolish people are always looking for another golden calf to dance around.

I was fooled many years (a few decades) ago, but not falling for two times!

I just wish the blinders could come off, and the SDA church would be fully in the Christian community with the unadulterated Gospel.

Some of us (I ain’t namin’ names) are ancient enough to know that “there is nothing new under the sun.”

Good ol’ Tom Norris, back in the day, was always insisting that “The Real Ellen White” remained locked up in the Infamous White Estate Vault.

I guess we’ll dance around calves until the cows come home.

Que sera, sera.

IMO, I think we know enough of what has gone on, to know that this thing ain’t what we were led to believe. :frowning:

If it were even possible to “remove” those beliefs, there would be nothing left…at the exoteric level.

It’s the esoteric level I’m concerned about, since it is untouchable by sweaty human mitts.

(In my opinion.)

You got it, but it has not always been in recent observations. There are indeed men brhind the curtains. I had the opportunity to visit a sincere body of “believers” of a cult that believed that every word which they followed from their “anointed one” came straight from the mouth of God.(It was an amazing experience to feel the presence of a spirit there; real strong. ( I came to understand what Paul was warning in saying to “Test the spirits to see if they are of God”) The followers are encouraged to follow this without question. To do otherwise, or bring questions of biblical basis that may counter their established practices was to be determined of one bringing “strange fire” into the body and was severely dealt with, even to the point of being cast out and leaving wife and children behind, or all being cast out. The mindset being that if you left, you had abandoned the “body of God” and just such as SDAism teaches through Ellen White, would be likened to “jumping off of the ark” of salvational safety and on to everlasting destruction.

That’s exactly why I said earlier:

And…

(NOT meant personally to anyone!)

And why I posted my friend’s material:

As I’ve said a number of times over the years, in different forums, Adventists have a template of thinking in terms of the Thundering Old Testament Prophet, but that’s not how the New Testament speaks of the gift of prophecy in the Church, the Body of Christ.

My friend David Koresh took that template and ran with it, and we all know what happened.

I suggest that Ellen White also took bit in teeth and ran with it, and that is why we have intractable chaos in Adventism today.

I’m not calling anyone a fool for thinking this way. We all took it in with mother’s milk, as it were.

It is not inexcusable (to use Chuck Scriven’s word), in my opinion.

But it is high time we went from milk to meat; to individuation; to growing up into Him who is our Head, I believe,

Well, Cadge…

That’s why I have so much conflict about Ellen White. So much beautiful and baleful experience with her has passed under my personal bridge.

But I’m a sketchy character, so no one should take my word for anything.

I’ve taken darshan from a guru and had a lovely experience, years ago.

(I’ve also, to my horror, accidentally destroyed an altar to Sai Baba that took hours for devotees to set up and consecrate in preparation for darshan. Sacred vibhuti scattered everywhere; yards of silk and vases of flowers strewn on the floor… )

In fact, within in the last month I’ve been blessed by a Buddhist monk, and I literally did not come down from that experience for over an hour.

I have never felt so peaceful and blessed in my entire life. A being with pure intent is very powerful.

As I said,

If the blind lead the blind…

Namaste.

I should not be surprised but it is mind boggling how these “letters” and “documents” suddenly appear from vaults. When I became a SDA it was clear to me that Ellen G. White was above reproach and saying anything against her was sacrilegious. Fast forward 50 plus years and the church continues to worship Ellen G. White. Now I ask, how much is Ellen G. White’s Estate worth? How lavishly did EGW live? Did she have a full complete staff at her disposal? How much real estate did she own when she died? Is she right up there with the likes of Billy Graham and all the other millionaire evangelists?

Unless I missed sarcasm, isn’t it the other way around?
But anyway, George W. Bush updated the saying to,

“Fool me once, shame on you… But… then…, you cannot fool me again…”.

When in the past someone asked to visit the infamous vault, the WE always chanted, “Lock her up, lock her up.”

But, now that they already published EVERYTHING she wrote, and there are no secretive writings anymore… I bet it must be easy to get an approval to have access to the vault if someone wanted to do some research and, unlike in the past, have permission to access EVERYTHING, right?

Some 40 years ago I wrote them a letter asking about the possibility of accessing the infamous vault for “research.” I must have misaddressed the envelope, and they may have never received the letter (benefit of the doubt…) … since I never got an answer…

Do you think I should try again now that everything is “in the open?”… WDYT?

That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans10:9

This concept leaves little room for having that extra-special message no one else has or will have. No way to corner the market. No way to “convert” those simpletons that actually believe that. Paul, meet Ellen, your replacement.

I’m not saying that it is wrong to have a home…but how do her quotes square with “the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head?”

Yes…I have it backwards! Guess I can now empathize with W.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Now, it’s correct…:upside_down_face:

Should have just used the old Who song…“Won’t Get Fooled Again” !!!
