I am dismayed by the recent bragging in SDA periodicals that they are an extension of the Reformation, indeed, an improvement on the Reformation.
One of the foundation stones of the Reformation was sola scriptura. Most SDAs fail this fundamental test. They do not practice sola scriptura, no matter how loudly they process that they do.
In my opinion the committee formulating SDA hermeneutics must start with sola scriptura.
Perhaps they have realized this basic starting point and are too fearful to tread further. It is a minefield waiting to explode under the feet of SDAs.
