Fritz Guy: Rigorous Thinker and Loyal Adventist

An Influential Teacher

Fritz Guy was a member of the religion department when I enrolled at La Sierra College in the early sixties. I took a class titled “The Life and Teachings of Jesus” from Guy during my freshman year. I remember that he made thoughtful presentations and also that he began each class with a ten-point quiz.

Rick, thank you for highlighting Dr. Guy’s commitment to La Sierra and its students. I remember him taking time from his busy schedule to play violin with the orchestra and his joy in engaging with students in the library, the cafeteria and anywhere else on campus.

Rick, thank you for this post in praise of our dear Fritz. In my experienced he was all the things that you said he was. I will miss him and his forward-looking thinking. Kathleen
