“ten miles from where Officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd”

One of the problems many people have with this statement is that an officer showed his brutality and apathetic attitude towards a criminal drug user. If this church decided to provide food and water for protestors who were supporting criminal activity, that would be difficult to agree with. If this church is making a statement against police brutality that would be easy to agree with. If this church makes no statement of any support that would appear as weak and vulnerable which could cost them support when the fence they sit on gets broken when challenged.
My hope would be that this church used the opportunities to share how Satan is causing confusion and chaos in our nation and twisting people’s understanding of right and wrong. My hope would be that this church used the opportunities to shine the light on Jesus, a Savior from the sin and evil in this nation, a Savior who blesses us with freedom and teaches us to not riot but still not to be a rug for others to trample on. The truth is that we all need each other and deserve the goodness we can share, with a focus on our Creator and Savior.
