Last Thursday, at 11:30am, Orville Parchment, Assistant to the General Conference President, and Karnik Doukmetzian, General Counsel of the General Conference informed the assembled Adventist Development and Relief Agency International staff that Rudi Maier, president of ADRA, was not in the office.
There is no official confirmation or disconfirmation that Maier (pictured) has been put on administrative leave. The General Conference officials read a statement from the ADRA board chairman, published by Spectrum here, and deferred further questions until after the June 24 board meeting.
Asked who is currently in charge at the headquarters of the humanitarian organization, John Torres, Assistant Director of Public Relations for ADRA, responded that the vice presidents are administering their respective areas.
