Pacific Union College in a media release today announced that former Southwestern Adventist University President Dr. Eric Anderson will serve as interim president when outgoing PUC President Heather Knight steps aside in January 2017. The statement from PUC's media relations department follows:

Glad to see you back, Eric. Too bad you can’t stay a little longer.
May it be blessed.
Good move. By reputation and commitment to PUC I doubt a better choice could be made than Eric Anderson. If he would be in it for the long-haul that might be beneficial, too.
Would really , REALLY be interested to know if there’s a back-story to Knight’s departure. Something to do, for instance, with the near-complete meltdown of an entire Academic Department (Psychology & Social Work)?
There is a back story article on Adventist Today.
An absolutely perfect solution. Yes: I hope he can stay a bit longer so the board can find someone else without pressure—he could stay as long as they need. In retrospect, he should have been up there for the last few years.
