George, donât forget to take your burka when you attend the GC2020 in Indianapolis. Iâll take mine and then lets attend Allen @ajshep church. LOL!
Yea, it sounds like a plan. Actually, I guess that the only way we, âfools,â can attend his church is if we are properly disguised. I am sure Allen @ajshep will be happy to see us when we reveal who we areâŚ
âMy mommyâ taught me ALWAYS to apologize when I make a mistake. Iâm sure âyour mommyâ taught you the same. I wonder whether all mommies teach likewise. No?
Ask Trump, he will tell you what he learned from his mommyâŚ
Well, he will lie to you (lie # 16,666), so just take a look at his behavior and you will have the answer âŚ
I still have to meet a politician who readily accepts that he lies. I believe the term is âInformation Management.â
I was just teasing 2HumBaby, George, but I confess that I frequently use Mr Google to check on acronyms.
Come out of the closet already!
We all know you are seventhdayjihAdventists!!
Must be the jesuit influence?
Iâd suggest the niqÄb, so you can get the eye salve.
Iâm wearing my *boshiyaâŚ
Thatâs a deal, Timo!
You two look like you are garbed like the imfomus Citizens Council, worser known as the KKK.
KKK likes White.
Islam like Black. Shows less âdirtâ from the dusty sand.
Thatâs our official garment for the GC. If you see us there you can throw coffee on us.
During my first time on this discourse few years ago people kept asking me if I was LGT. I was wondering why they left B out. I was honestly thinking they were asking if I was gay. And I thought I had a decent grasp on Adventist terminology.
The last time I attended a church event (over 15 years ago), we were discussing the finer points of ârighteous by faithâ. one Sabbath afternoon. One faithful member, looking very concerned, said, âDo you mean I have been keeping the Sabbath for nothing all these years?â I couldnât bring myself to return.
Doesnât sound as if the Sabbath was a delight for him.
Too many persons have a relationship with God that is based on the
QUID PRO QUO type of mentality.
Similar to the person in the Jesus story reminding God of all the good
things he does, and so should be blessed.
Telling God this as a reminder that God should love him because of
those.
Then there is the PANIC of Fear. If I donât do the right things in the right
way â ZAP!! I will suffer in some way for it.
Sometimes I wonder if OUR Pastors in general donât see relationship with
God in this way, and so tend to preach this to the laity as truth.
However, there are a few short statements in the Torah where one can see
God promoting QUID PRO QUO relationship. My Rabbi presented some of
these one Friday evening.
[PS. I have a Rabbi, a Pastor, a Priest. So Iâm covered.]
I firmly believe that we miss the point when we narsistically make this whole issue about us. It has always been about the character of God which is revealed in Christ. Righteousness by faith is about the righteousness of God that we by faith in Christ know to be true. That faith will allow us to come boldly into the presence of God without fear.
We no longer have to worry about how we live. In the final analysis if we really believe that our acceptance by God is not based on works then we should live that way, reminds me of the famous meme, live free or die.
It is so sad that RbF message was not accepted. It has caused the legalism that keeps us from making Christology the basis for Godâs acceptance of all peoples.
We certainly donât have to worry, but I believe that Christians have some guidelines and should follow themas result of having been saved by God. Heath principles and moral conduct are issues that, for me, deserve significant attention. Tgey provide good balance to our body and mind.
There will always ways to improve this life. My point was that no matter the present condition of a personâs life. the love and acceptance of God is unchanging. Nothing we may choose freely to do can change that which is freely given. And we are free of the cultural burdens religion places on individuals.
Our acceptance by God is not based upon works.
But in Deut 10:20 it says, âLoving the Lord, obeying Him,
and holding fast to Him, means life to you, and length of life.â
Psalm 119:7 â âI will praise and thank You by living as I
should.â
119:1-8. Joyful and happy are those who walk in the path
marked âThe Laws of the Lord.â
Happy and joyful are those who resist doing wrong. I will
not be ashamed.
And Psalm 1. Again talks about the Joys we have, and the
misery we MISS of the life of the wicked and their destructive
ways.
Meditating on the Law is considering How we can Love God,
Love ourselves, Love others â neighbors, aliens, poor, widows,
orphans.
