would have even taken part in a sex-change surgery. It appears like Satan has been attacking LLUMC with full force for decades.
Nevertheless, this seems to be a phenomenon in the SDA Church that dates back to the time of Dr. J. H. Kellogg vs. the SDA ministers and EGW. The division between the pastoral ministry and the medical ministry of the church is continually ongoing. The Bible is clear on this matter from a pastoral perspective as it relates to transgenderism, in Deuteronomy 22:5 it says, "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God," (much less get a surgery done to TRY to BE the opposite gender). Yet the medical ministry looks at the same issue through the lens of "compassion" so-called.
Here is the problem with this so-called compassion.
Compassion that contradicts scripture is not compassion but blind passion. King Saul had "compassion" on the king of the Amalekites, but he was disobedient and ultimately rejected by God from remaining as king. There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 16:25)
We have become a culture that now says to people anything goes, and it is so disheartening to hear when the church follows suit. Too many people are afraid to call sin what it really is: sin; because they've been bitten by the bug of so-called compassion. Sex-change surgery, transgenderism, homosexuality, and lesbianism are sin NO MATTER HOW STRONG THE URGE IS TO ENGAGE IN THOSE PRACTICES (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), and while we love every sinner NO MATTER WHAT SIN THEY ARE ENGAGED IN, WE MUST STILL HATE THE SIN AND CALL SIN WHAT IT REALLY IS.
I don't expect for most of you to like or even agree with what I have said, but (and I say this with all humility) the truth will set you free. And I know someone may bring up the issues of hermaphrodism, and what if parents chose the "wrong" sex for their baby from what God intended at the hospital? Read the first few verses of Matthew 19 to get some extra clarity on those matters. A person can decide that it would be better to live the life of a eunuch, but by all means they should NOT go against God's word that denounces homosexuality and cross-dressing even if they "feel" that their parents made a mistake. If they can't be with someone born of the opposite gender than the sex of their birth than they can choose to live the life of a eunuch.
Compassion recognizes that innate worth of every human being created in the image of God, but it also recognizes that every human being is a sinner in desperate need of God's saving grace that is found in Jesus Christ. So, while Christians must not in the slightest sense lessen the convicting message and meaning of scripture (It is not the words of men, but "holy men spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" 2 Peter 1:21, and thus the information is not to be considered outdated to some foregone era. Unless the Bible says otherwise, what was wrong in the days of the apostles and prophets is still wrong today, and I believe that Satan would love to have us to get some unbelieving scholars to reinterpret the scriptures to say just what we want them to say to do just what we want to do.), we must also speak the truth in LOVE, and with tact, and at the right time to the right people for their edification as opposed to simply giving them our condemnation. Sinners must be brought to the foot of the cross where they can find forgiveness and deliverance.
However, let me reemphasize this point once again. Whether you and I like it or not, the truth will still be the truth. So I will end my post with these last word by Polonius, "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."
What do I mean? Stop trying to rewrite the Bible to say what you would like for it to say to suit your lifestyle or beliefs even though in your own heart of hearts, you know it does not say what you would like it to say. If you don't agree with the Bible than just be honest enough to admit that you disagree with the God of the Bible and you believe you're wiser than He is. Furthermore, if you honestly believe you're wiser than the God of the Bible, than you might want to reassess why you're even still in the Christian church. For the life of me I don't understand why people who think they are wiser than God and the Bible remain in the Christian church. Why not start your own religion since you honestly believe you're just as wise or wiser than God? On the other hand, if you know in your heart that you're wrong than it's time to earnestly ask God to give you the strength to swallow the supposedly bitter pill of truth.
Let me also address Trumpism. Romans 13 clearly says that "the powers that be are ordained of God," and then it goes onto call them God's ministers. So I respect the person who is in the office of the presidency no matter WHO IT IS! Nevertheless, respect does not mean that the president (nor any other leader for that matter) is absolved from being called out for lies and hypocrisy. The current leader has LIED on a number of occasions (Obama birther issue, Obama wiretapping issue, tax returns release, knowledge greater than generals, etc.), and it's honestly a shame that no one (evangelicals included) have called him out on his blatant lies. In my opinion, modern-day evangelicalism and Trumpism are religious and political masks for racism as IN PAST AGES. Nevertheless, this still doesn't negate my earlier statements about transgenderism.
