The Adventist Church throughout the world focused on the study of the book of Daniel during the first quarter of the year 2020. Many members rejoiced in this study. Is not prophecy at the heart of Adventism?
In my opinion, the COVID-19 event will rather be “food for speculation” for a long time. I can already envision how many sermons will be preached trying to make a Biblical sense of it.
Now theologians and ministers have new red meat on their plates; it will keep them busy scratching their heads in the quest for the Biblical meaning of this little beast. Hope this time they find something reasonable and realistic before they get a megaphone and shout, “Mission Accomplished.”
Here’s a thought - The WW Church of God under the old Armstrong taught that the book of Revelation accessed Ezekiel instead of Daniel, as the “little book” of Rev.10 (since they were both, in the mouth, “sweet as honey and bitter in the stomach.” ) That being assumed, Revelation sort of copies Ezekiel - which claims that 1/3 will die of plague; 1/3 by famine; 1/3 will scatter to the wind with sword behind them - (Ez 5:12) That sounds about right at this point. Of course that ignores al that stuff in Daniel and destroys 1844 - so, never mind. 
I found it interesting that the author lectures in Second Temple Judaism. I had to use Wikipedia to learn a little about it. Do theologians divide other time segments of Jewish history and concentrate on them as their special areas of study?

Let’s hope there won’t be sufficient hubris, even from this president, to ever make such a claim.
If nothing else, the pandemic has demonstrated how naked and found wanting the American healthcare system was when it was required to stand up.
I’m not an advocate for a fully socialised healthcare system, preferring a hybrid of private and public insurance and institutions.
Even with a president who was on the front foot, Americans would still have concluded how useless the CDC, NIH, FEMA etc is without a fully integrated national healthcare system that cuts across states and can respond in unison.
Based on what I see “this president” saying and doing, it is obvious that in his mind the only thing that matters is to declare victory over the little beast (even without actually defeating it) and to put people back on the streets (work) so that he can “make the economy great again.” He is obsessed with it no matter what. Apparently, human life is not something he cares much for.
This guy has been a disgrace to America and the whole world as well.The only ones benefiting from him are Putin, MBS, and potentially any dictator. The Allies, well, he couldn’t care less.
He’s desperate to become a billionaire again because he has not been one for a while. That’s why he won’t show tax returns. He takes no pay for the Presidential office, but it’s just a smokescreen. He’s been busy filling his coffers. That’s why he wants all events held at his properties. That’s why the nepotism of Ivanka and Jarod running around with security clearances to other countries doing what the Secretary of State usually does. He needed them in there in order to carry out his schemes. Blood is thicker than water. They won’t spill the beans. That’s why he’s dismissing career diplomats and filling the positions with inexperienced people that are loyal to him and not the Constitution, or the American people that they swore oaths to. Remember when he went to North Korea? He tells Kim Un Jung. Look at your beautiful beaches. Why don’t you put some hotels up here and bring in some tourist dollars? Never one to miss and opportunity to promote his brand. He didn’t start The Apprentice reality show just to have a show. It was a political ploy to gain optimum viewable exposure in order to build a base of followers in preperation for his Oval Office quest. This guy is the consummate conman. He doesn’t want to leave office. There’s too much money involved. But when he does the SDNY is waiting to bring him to justice.
However, as Lincoln quoted, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
