1. The president of the Euro-Asia Division, Guillermo Biaggi, is calling on all Adventists to pray for peace in Ukraine and has urged church members across the division (which includes Ukraine, Russia and 10 other former Soviet republics as well as Afghanistan) to give a freewill offering this Sabbath to help fund efforts by ADRA to assist people — both Ukrainians and Russians — who have fled to other parts of Ukraine and across the border to Russia in the unrest.
2. The principals of a Seventh-day Adventist school and four other schools in Sierra Leone are being questioned by members of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Education, Science and Technology regarding the poor performance of their students. Government leaders are questioning the qualifications of the teaching staff.
3. A Casselberry, Florida mother, who identifies herself as a Seventh-day Adventist, was arrested for child neglect after she refused to take her newborn to the hospital, saying that she did not want to give her child formula made from animal products.
