I became a baptized SDA when I was 21 year old. I am now 65. Prior to my baptism, I was asked to sign a statement pledging to abstain from doing certain things. To the best of my recollection, it contained language to abstain from going to the movies, playing cards, dancing, wearing short sleeves, etc. Does anyone else have any recollection of this sort??? I am no longer a SDA. The legalism was overwhelming for me and, in my opinion, had very little to do with the great commission. Faith, grace, salvation, love of the Father…things we would all agree are life changing and of utmost importance! Any one else have a similar experience??? Praise be to God!
